Started the day with a quick ride through town to the weekly ham radio breakfast. Not a big deal except it was my first time across the Main Avenue bridge. Downtown is so full of potholes at the moment that Main Avenue had me a bit concerned. But it went smoothly. And the fact that it was 6:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning helped a lot. Not a soul around.
Had a great breakfast with the group. A couple of the guys (old friends of mine) wanted to take a closer look, so we stood around the bike and chatted for a while. As we were doing that, all kinds of bikes started rolling in. Looks like there might be group of riders that meets at the same place, just a couple of hours later than the radio guys. Might have to have an extended breakfast next week. 🙂
The ride home was uneventful, even though it was my first time on a busy road in real traffic. I am MUCH more comfortable with the bike, so it’s now easier to focus on the other vehicles. I’m finding I miss the visor in the car. Heading east into an early morning is a bit challenging. Not impossible, but a visor would sure cut a lot of the glare.
